Laura Driggers grew up in Dallas, TX and was working as a surgical tech until her drug and alcohol addiction consumed her life. After multiple arrests, her family intervened and sent her to a treatment facility in the Texas Hill Country in March of 2012. At the suggestion of her counselor, she made the decision to stay in Kerrville after completing treatment and arrived at The North Star Sober Living for Women in April. While living at The North Star, she got a sponsor worked the steps, and began rebuilding her life. During her stay she became the House Manager and thus began helping other women rebuild their lives. After 18 months at The North Star, Laura moved to San Antonio to work at a homeless shelter that provides 90 day treatment for drug and alcohol addiction. While in San Antonio, Laura gave birth to her son and decided Kerrville was where she wanted to raise her family and moved back in 2015. Laura and Grace had grown close over the years and it was a perfect fit for the two to become partners in running The North Star. Laura married in 2020 and now lives with her Husband and blended family in Kerrville. Laura oversees the day to day operations of the house and is committed to continuing the legacy of high accountability recovery which has been the cornerstone of The North Star.
